On March 27, the long-awaited rematch of Alexander Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KOs) with Dillian Whyte (27-2, 18 KOs) will take place. The stake in this fight will be the interim WBC heavyweight belt. In the first fight, Povetkin twice visited the floor, but knocked out Whyte. Michael Hunter (19-1-1, 13 KO), who spent all twelve rounds with the Russian in 2019, is betting that Sasha will again defeat the Body Snatcher on Saturday.
“I think it will be a repeat," the American said in an interview to Sky Sports. "The fight will be very similar to the first one. In the end, Povetkin always finds a way to his opponent, so I expect the same ending."
"The fight can go either way, but I think Povetkin's experience will be the difference," said Hunter, who is waiting for news of his fight against Filip Hrgovic (12-0, 10 KOs), which the IBF has appointed as the final eliminator.
“Hrgovic's team has not contacted me yet. Never. I have no signals from them," the American said. "I thought they wanted this fight."
