Avni Yildirim (21-3, 12 KOs) earned $2.5 million in Saturday's fight against Saul Alvarez (55-1-2, 37 KOs) for the super middleweight WBA, WBC and The Ring belts. For the 29-year-old Turk, who competed in the World Boxing Super Series, this was the largest purse in his professional career.

The Mexican's earnings were, according to some sources, "eight figures." Earlier it was also reported that Canelo is guaranteed a fee of $20 million, excluding percentage from PPV income.

The duel of Alvarez and Yildirim became the main event of the evening organized in Miami. The Mexican dominated the opponent in the ring, knocked down in the third round and forced his corner to refuse to continue the meeting at the break.

During this time, Yildirim landed only 11 punches, 7 of which were jabs. Alvarez hit the opponent 67 times in the first three rounds, 58 of them were so-called "power" punches.
