UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes told why, in a fight with Russian Alexander Volkov, he could not carry out a single series of elbow strikes when he was on top. Last June the American won by unanimous decision.
“Volkov has a unique body type. It is very difficult to find guys with such a long torso in the camp to work with them on fight plan. When you have such a long body, long legs and arms, like Volkov's, it is very easy to hug me and break my position from above, correct posture. He did a brilliant job of keeping me from sitting up, getting the right posture,” Blaydes said.
