Avni Yildirim (21-2, 14 KOs) received a visa to the United States and moved his training camp for the fight against Saul Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) in California. Prior to that, the 30-year-old fighter trained in Turkey, where he was accompanied by trainer Joel Diaz.

“I am satisfied with the work done in Turkey. All goals have been achieved. But as soon as we got visas, it's time to move to the USA. First we will be in California, and on February 21 we will fly to Miami, where the fight will take place,” Diaz said.

“The pandemic led to the fact that I did not compete for a long time, but for this fight I trained for many months in the USA and Germany. Nobody gives me a chance, but I am ready for this challenge,” Yildirim said.

Saul Alvarez and Avni Yildirim will face off on February 27 at Miami's Hardrock Stadium. 15,000 spectators will be able to watch this event live. The boxers will fight for the WBA, WBC super middleweight titles held by the Mexican.
