Gennady Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) assures that he is in excellent shape before the fight against Kamil Sheremeta (21-0, 5 KOs). This bout will be the highlight of the Matchroom Boxing Friday night in Hollywood, Florida.

“I'm in great shape. It was not easy to prepare, because we had many restrictions and access to sparring partners was difficult. However, we had a lot of time to prepare, and I am satisfied with the form and preparation in general,” GGG said.

“They ask me if I'm still as good as I was a few years ago. There have been changes in preparation and training. We have carried out tests which have shown that some indicators are better than 5 years ago. The form is excellent and I can't wait to enter the ring,” the representative of Kazakhstan said.

At the stake in the fight there will be Golovkin's IBF middleweight title. For GGG, this will be the 21st title defense in the middleweight category.

“I approach every duel with complete concentration and I know how risky and dangerous boxing is. I'm not going to hunt for a knockout, but if there is an opportunity to end the fight early, I will definitely take advantage of this,” Golovkin said.
