Today, the team of Evander Holyfield has published an official announcement by challenging Mike Tyson, who returned to the ring on Saturday in an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr.
Holyfield, 58, offers Tyson a fight that will give Iron Mike the opportunity to pay off two losses in 1996 and 1997.
“Our side has already tried to agree on this fight, but in response they received only excuses. Now I know why Tyson needed an intermediate fight before our confrontation," said the former world heavyweight champion. "Roy Jones Jr. was a good rival for Mike, but a duel with me would be global and the only event that the whole world is waiting for. There is absolutely no reason why this fight could not have taken place."
“No more excuses. This fight must take place. On Saturday you said that you were ready to meet me, so sign the contract and enter the ring, Tyson! The world is waiting, everything depends on you. I'm ready!" Holyfield added.
