Gassiev to return early next year

At the end of October, Murat Gassiev (27-1, 20 KOs) successfully made his heavyweight debut with a quick victory over Nuri Seferi. And although Gassiev is still facing litigation with the American promotional organization Warriors Boxing, the Russian is linking his immediate plans with local promoters.

“The former unified cruiserweight champion already weighs about 105 kilograms and, as shown by the fight with Seferi, still hits hard. When is his next fight? Early next year. Murat needs from ten to twelve weeks, and he will be ready for the next performance", Vitaly Slanov, the coach of the former cruiserweight champion said.

“My opponent was originally supposed to be Kevin Johnson. It all ended with a duel against Seferi, but if it hadn't been for him, I wouldn't have fought at all, and all my hard work would have been wasted. And I trained very hard”, 27-year-old Gassiev explained the choice of the opponent, who returned to the ring after a two-year break.
