Tyson vs Jones PPV to cost $50

Boxing fans in the United States will have to pay $49,99 to watch a pay-to-play boxing night scheduled for September 12, which will feature a duel of two retired boxing legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.

54-year-old Tyson and 3 years younger Jones will meet in an 8-round bout. The fight will bear exhibition status, the boxers will be without helmets, but will be wearing 12 ounce gloves, instead of 10, as is usual in this weight category in professionals.

It is not yet known what fights, apart from the main event of the evening, will be offered to fans for almost $50, but unofficially there is talk of a confrontation of the blogger Jake Paul and former NBA star Nate Robinson.

The boxing community is very skeptical about the announced event for September. In a poll published by The Athletic on the question "Would you buy Tyson-Jones PPV?" only 19% of survey participants answered “yes”. It is also worth noting that another performance of the biggest boxing star in the world Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) is scheduled to fight on September 12 too, and his fight will be available to subscribers of the DAZN platform at no additional charge.
