Top Rank wins the purse bids for Ramirez vs Alvarez

Top Rank won the tender for the organization of the fight for the status of the official challenger for the WBO light heavyweight title between Gilberto Ramirez (40-0, 26 KOs) and Eleider Álvarez (25-1, 13 KOs). The winning bid was 350,000 dollars.

Both fighters are on contract with Top Rank, but for some time Ramirez had already conflicts with his promoters and wants to change the situation. The former champion was hoping that someone would outweigh Top Rank at the bids, but no other proposal had been made.

Ramirez vs Alvarez fight is a final eliminator for the belt, which was recently vacated by Saul Alvarez. The winner of this fight will meet the best in the pair of Umar Salamov vs Maxim Vlasov.

Ramirez vs Alvarez clash is about to be held on May 30 in New York. In the main event of the evening Vasyl Lomachenko will battle Teofimo Lopez. Jarrell Miller is also going to return to the ring at this event.
