WBC decision to create a new Franchise belt met with great criticism in the boxing media. However, Mauricio Sulaiman believes that the new title, awarded to outstanding world champions exempting them from the mandatory title defenses, and it will contribute to the development of professional boxing at the highest level.

"The holder of the Franchise title can fight in any weight against champions of any organization, while retaining the WBC title. It can be a little difficult to understand that, but I am convinced that this step will open the way to the bigger fights," the head of WBC said.

In recent weeks, the WBC Franchise belt was granted to Saul Alvarez and Vasyl Lomachenko. It was rumored that Deontay Wilder could be the next "super champion", but "The Bronze Bomber" has already said that he was not interested in the new trinkle.
