Charlo beats Adams on points

Jermall Charlo (29-0, 21 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory over Brandon Adams (21-3, 13 KOs) in the main event of the evening of Premier Boxing Champions in Houston. After twelve rounds the judges scored it 119-109 twice and 120-108 in favor of Charlo, who defended his WBC middleweight title.

The fight turned out to be not the most spectacular. Adams was not able to oppose anything to physically stronger opponent. Charlo was not pleased with his form, but he has won more rounds and achieved benefits on all three scorecards.

It was the first defeat for Adams in four years. 29-year-old Charlo is the current WBC champion for several days already after Saul Alvarez received the status of «WBC Franchise» champion. Earlier, the American owned interim title of the World Boxing Council.

At the same evening Erickson Lubin defeated Zakaria Attou on points and became the official challenger for the WBC junior middleweight title.
