In the upcoming Saturday we are waiting for the two cruiserweight semi-finals in the WBSS tournament, and the next day in Yekaterinburg, Russia there will be some interesting fights in the same weight category, in one of which Ilunga Makabu (24-2, 23 KOs) will meet Dmitry Kudryashov (23-2, 23 KOs).

On Saturday in Riga Krzysztof Głowacki (31-1, 19 KOs) will defend his WBO belt, and in case of victory over Mairis Briedis (25-1, 18 KO) he will also win the vacant WBC title. In turn, the best in the pair of Makabu vs Kudryashov will become the mandatory challenger for the new WBC champion.

Until 2016 Ilunga Makabu was working with the coach Nick Durandt of South Africa, and for the last three years, he was replaced by his son Damien Durandt.

"Kudryashov has not passed the full seven rounds in his life. He is a very dangerous puncher, but the longer the fight, the more our chances grow. The difference is in the speed in favor of "Junior", his strength, speed and, above all, experience. They both have been on the floor, but eventually my boxer's advantage will grow," said the coach of Makabu.

Boxer from Congo after the defeat to Tony Bellew has earned five stoppage wins in a row, although on a rather weak opposition. The Russian after a bad performance in WBSS tournament received two wins since than.
