WBC to increase the number of judges in the title fights?

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman says that his organization is considering the possibility of increasing the number of judges in the battles for the world titles. Fights for the World Boxing Council belt could soon be judged by five judges.

"The biggest nightmare of boxing fans is an unjust and wrong decisions. With five well-chosen judges it will be much harder to make a mistake with the wrong winner. We support this project and we will discuss it," said Suleiman.

In the past, WBC was already implementing several innovative solutions in fights maintenance procedure. One of them was open the scoring, which, however, was rejected by most of the national federations. In the process of open scoring during title battles judges cards were announced after the 4th and 8th rounds.

World Boxing Council some time ago, also launched the "Clean box program" - an innovative anti-doping program in boxing, according to which the boxers are undergoing doping controls not only just before the fights, but also in the periods when they are not preparing for a fight.
