The head of the Golden Boy promotion company Oscar De La Hoya commented on the news about the termination of the cooperation of the former world champion Gennady Golovkin with coach Abel Sanchez.
“Gennady Golovkin is starting to become a businessman. Before that, we had only heard how hard he was training, that he thought only of fights and that he was committed to the cause. Now he is worried about how many dollars he will have to pay to the coach. In fact, he needed to think about the dismissal of the coach on the basis of the result of the last fight. He looked unimportant in the last duel and he should have dismissed Sanchez based on that,” said De La Hoya.
The previous fight Gennady Golovkin lost to Saul Alvarez who is the client of De La Hoya.
