Lomachenko on the differences between him fighting Pedraza and Davis

WBA and WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KOs) explained the difference between his fight against Jose Pedraza (25-2, 12 KOs) and the Puerto Rican’s fight with Gervonta Davis (21-0, 20 KOs).

“Mayweather and Davis are businessmen, they are not athletes - they make money. And I am an athlete and I want to fight the best. That is why we cannot fight. The difference between my fight with Pedraza and the fight of Davis? When Jose fought him, he lost a lot of weight, and with me he boxed in his division, while I did not.

“When Davis met him Pedraza went forward, he fought, with me was just runnin. And, most interestingly, in the fight with Davis Pedraza rose after the knockdown and was ready to continue the fight, but the referee stopped that fight.”

Lomachenko will fight next against Anthony Crolla (34-6-3, 13 KOs) on April 12 in Los Angeles. At the stake of meeting will be both belts of the Ukrainian, this is the mandatory defense of his WBA title.
