Anthony Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs) scored the technical decision win over Anvi Yildirim (21-2, 12 KOs) and for the second time became the WBC super middleweight champion. This fight was the main event of the evening in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
As expected, the 27-year-old Yildirim went forward to his opponent from the first seconds of the battle and tried to impose his tactics on him. The American acted on the counterattacks and tried to stop the enemy’s advance with blows from both hands.
The fight was even, but was stopped in the tenth round due to a cut of Dirrell's left eyebrow. Since the injury occurred after an accidental head-butt, the outcome of the battle was determined by scoring. Two judges preferred Dirrell (96-94), and the third saw the advantage of Yildirim (98-92).
Dirrell won the WBC belt for the first time in 2014, but lost it in the first defense. Now the American again won the trophy of the World Boxing Council.
