Vitali Minakov of Russia will undergo surgery on his injured shoulder. On Sunday Minakov lost on points to Cheick Kongo of France in a fight at the Bellator tournament in Uncasville, Connecticut. The athlete later told that he had health problems on the eve of the fight.
“Until I decide the issue with my shoulder, my left hand, I won’t think about the next fight,” said Minakov. “The problem with the shoulder was a long time ago, since the time of preparation for the fight with Alexander Volkov, but then I could not do the surgery. The rivals see that I don’t punch with the left hand at all, so they go under it. Full recovery after such a surgery takes three months, as far as I know."
