Markus Beyer dies in Germany

At the age of 47, the famous German boxer, the former three-time WBC world super middleweight champion Marcus Beyer, passed away. Bayer represented Germany at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics at welterweight. He won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 1995 and silver at the European Championships in 1996.

During his career, Marcus Bayer three times became a world champion, and ended his career in 2008 after winning a unanimous decision over Murad Makhmudov with a record (35-3-1, 13 KOs).

The reasons for the death of the ex-champion has not yet been reported, it is only known that Bayer died in hospital after a serious short illness.
