Dmitry Shilokhai, coach of Mairis Briedis (23-1, 19 KOs), said that in the second season of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS), his mission will be easier because they will not have to face Alexander Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs).

“Every boxer makes mistakes. We worked on them every day to avoid in future. I think that it will be easier for Mairis. In the first season there was a difficult fight with Usyk, which was close, but still we lost. It should be easier now,” said Shilokhai.

The first fight in the second season of the WBSS Briedis will have against Noel Gevor (23-1, 10 KOs). The fight will take place in the United States.

In the first WBSS season, Briedis was defeated by Usyk in the semifinals of the tournament.
