Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of Khabib Nurmagomedov, on his Twitter page said that all Russian fans are waiting for big news. “We will blow your mind. Big news coming,” wrote Abdelaziz, without specifying what exactly it is about.

In mid-October, Nurmagomedov called boxer Floyd Mayweather out, after which the American called on TV channels to prepare money for the purchase of rights to broadcast this fight. Later, the father and coach of the Russian athlete Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov said that his son's fight with Mayweather "should be in Russia." Mayweather and Nurmagomedov did not suffer a single defeat in their sports.

In early October, as part of the UFC 229 tournament in the United States, Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor and defended his UFC lightweight title. Mayweather in August 2017 knocked out MacGregor in a fight by the rules of boxing.
