Emelianenko knocks Sonnen out in the first round (video)

The legendary Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko scored a KO victory over the American Chael Sonnen in the main event of the Bellator 208 tournament in Uniondale, USA.

From the first seconds of the battle, Sonnen actively went forward, but ran into several punches and found himself on the floor. Emelianenko did not rush to his rival and allowed him to stand up. At the end of the first minute, Sonnen tried to make a transfer to the ground, however Fedor took the dominant position and decided to immediately rise to his feet. Sonnen continued to attack and in the middle of the round, after a successful transfer, he tried to take Fedor’s back, but failed and the fight continued in the stance.

Two minutes before the end of the round, Sonnen made another takedown and initially controlled Emelianenko from above, but Fedor won the position and began to shower his opponent with a hail of blows. Sonnen went on defensive, forcing the referee to stop the bout.

Thus, Emelianenko successfully reaches the final of the Bellator Grand Prix in the heavyweight division. In the finale he will meet with the current heavyweight champion of the organization Ryan Bader.
