Usyk dominates Gassiev and becomes the undisputed cruiserweight champion

In the main event of the evening at the arena of the Moscow sport complex Olympic in the final of the first season of the World Boxing Super Series, Alexander Usyk (15-0, 11 KOs) scored a convincing victory over the previously undefeated Murat Gassiyev (26-1, 19 KOs) and for the first time in history became the owner of four championship belts of the main versions in the cruiserweights. Usyk became the owner of the Muhammad Ali Trophy, which was handed to him by the widow of "The Greatest" Lonnie Ali. The scores were: 120-108, 119-109, 119-109.

The fight took place with the big advantage of Usyk almost in all rounds. The most successful moment for Gassiev was at the end of the fourth round, when Usyk missed the right overhand, which visibly hurt the Ukrainian.

In the 6th round, Gasssiev began to get a little dirty and dealt a few blows to the opponent's legs. In a break between the rounds, Abel Sanchez, the coach of Murat, began to wind up his ward, stating that he is ready to stop the fight, if he does not take any action.

In the tenth round, Usyk did not slow down, but only raised the volume of punches, which caused a slight bleeding from Gassiev's nose. Before the round Sanchez said in the corner that to win they need at least a knockdown.
