UFC heavyweight prospect Curtis Blaydes scored a stoppagevictory over veteran Alistair Overeem at the UFC 225 tournament in Chicago, USA. The battle began cautious: Blaydes tried to put pressure, while Overeem took a wait-and-see attitude. In the middle of the round Curtis managed to transfer his opponent to the ground, where he kept him until the end of the first five minutes.

At the beginning of the second round, Overeem managed to land his trademark knee kick, but could not develop his success and again found himself on the floor. This time, Blaydes acted much more aggressively, which could not but affect the final segment of the battle.

At the beginning of the third round, Curtis became much bolder, and then held another takedown and literally bet down his opponent with the elbows.
