White: Poirier is one of the contenders for the title

Head of the UFC Dana White confirmed that the American lightweight Dustin Poirier secured himself in the status of the contender for a fight with the champion of the promotion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

"Poirier became one of the contenders for the title. He is definitely among them. Dustin was one of those guys we saw as a substitute for a fight with Khabib at a tournament in Brooklyn, but I did not want to cancel his fight with Gaethje. Fortunately, we did not do this," White said.

Yesterday Poirier knocked out Justin Gaethje.
