Wilder Knocks Ortiz out in a Sensational War

World heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) successfully defended his title with a spectacular KO victory in the 10th round over the previously undefeated Cuban southpaw Luis Ortiz (28-1, 24 KOs) in the main event of the evening at the arena of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

At the end of the fifth round Wilder managed to knock Ortiz down with two right hands, but in the seventh round Wilder himself was noticeably hurt and barely survived the round. In the tenth Wilder sent Ortiz on the canvas twice and secured the stoppage by the referee at 2:05.

According to Athletic commission of New York, for this fight Wilder received $2.1 million, Ortiz - $500 thousand.
