American mixed martial arts coach Javier Mendes shared his thoughts about the match between his fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
"I am determined to think positively and I think that this match will take place. I think so. Everything is perfect. Khabib is in the best shape of his entire career - both physically and morally. He improved all his skills. Therefore expect fireworks and beating of Ferguson. Forgive me for saying this, but it will be so.
"Of course Tony will fight back. He is an excellent fighter and a real warrior, but Khabib is a completely different animal. You will see this on the night of the battle. Of course, we are biased. We, Khabib's team cannot underestimate Ferguson. He has ten wins in a row. He is an incredible fighter and an excellent three-footer, he's good at trash talking. We have to fight him, but that does not mean that I cannot be his fan. I'm his fan indeed.
"For us the upcoming meeting will be a duel for the real belt. We are in a situation where there's no champion. Tony is not a champion. Khabib is not a champion. Conor will no longer be a champion. I hope that later Khabib will have the opportunity to meet Conor and settle all the disputes. Of course Conor will talk a lot, because that's what he does well. But Khabib is a man of action, so I would like him to get this chance," Mendez said.
