On January 27 in Riga, Latvia, the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) semi-final fight took place in the cruiserweight division. WBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk beat Mairis Briedis by majority decision, which allowed the Ukrainian to take the WBC title and reach the final of the Super Series.
