In Riga, an official weigh-in procedure took place on the eve of the fight in the semifinal of the World Boxing Super Series between Alexander Usyk and Mairis Briedis. At the stake of the fight will be WBO and WBC titles. Weight of Alexander Usik was 90,4 kilo, Mairis Briedis - 90,3 kilo.
"I have the opportunity to unify belts. This motivates me," said Alexander at the weigh-in.
"It is my honor to represent Latvia at such a high level tournament. I hope to meet the expectations of my relatives and my fans," said Briedis.
A large number of fans from Ukraine came to support Alexander on the weigh-in, including Vasyl Lomachenko and Anatoly Lomachenko, as well as mother, wife and friends of Alexander.
The broadcast of Usyk - Briedis duel will be today closer to midnight on the Inter TV channel. The beginning of the "Big Box" studio, where they will discuss the upcoming fight, is at 22:15 EET.
