World Boxing Association (WBA) has fulfilled what it promised to do in last November, and stripped of two-time Olympic champion Guillermo Rigondeaux of Cuban of his title of "super" champion at 122-pounds.

Rigondeaux was supposed to take rematch against mandatory challenger Moises Flores, but secured permission to meet WBO super featherweight champion Vasily Lomachenko. At the same time, the WBA set the condition that Rigondeaux would lose the title in case of his loss.

Now Danny Roman, who owned the "regular" title, was given the status of a full-fledged champion in this weight category, and will have to meet Flores sometime in the future.
