Bremer outclasses Brant and proceeds to Smith

German veteran Jurgen Braehmer (49-3, 35 KOs) won a convincing victory by unanimous decision over the previously undefeated prospect from the US Rob Brant (22-1, 15 KOs) and received the status of official contender for the WBC title in the super middleweight division. This was the main event of the evening in Braehmer’s native Schwerin, Germany. The judicial scores are: 119-109, 118-110 and 116-112.

Early next year, in the semifinal of the World Boxing Super Series, Braehmer will meet Callum Smith of UK. Thus, the United States lost its last representative in the tournament, which had never been particularly popular for American spectators.

For this meeting Braehmer came down from light heavyweights, and before the fight Brant said that even if he wins the tournament he will continue his career in the middleweights.
