Former world light heavyweight champion Sergei Kovalev will prepare under the guidance of coaches Alexander Sedov and Abror Tursunpulatov for his upcoming fight on November 25 in the United States against the Ukrainian Vyacheslav Shabranskyy. Kovalev reported about this on his Instagram page.

"The first stage of preparation (general physical training), which I conducted under the guidance of Alexander Sedov, was successfully completed. Today we began the second stage of training (boxing camp) under the guidance of my new trainer Abror Tursunpulatov. There is a common understanding of what and how to do, and this is the main thing. I hope that our joint work will bring a new success to my career as a boxer," wrote Kovalev.

Tursunpulatov is also the coach of the Uzbek Fazliddin Gaibnazarov, who won gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in the weight category of 63.5 kilos.

Earlier in September, former Russian coach John David Jackson of US said that he was no longer going to work with Kovalev because Sergei did not train hard enough before the rematch against Andre Ward.
