Usyk Stops Huck in the 10th

Andrew Karlov Sept. 9, 2017, 6:29 p.m.

WBO cruiserweight champion Alexander Usyk (13-0, 11 KOs) won a tenth round TKO victory over former longtime world champion Marco Huck (40-5-1, 27 KOs) and went to the semi-finals of the World Boxing Super Series, in which he will meet with the winner of the Mairis Briedis vs Mike Perez fight which will take place on September 30 in Riga, Latvia.

The fight was under Usyk’s control from the very start. Usyk moved around a lot, threw punch combinations and tried to avoid his opponent dirty tactics. In the eighth round in one of the episodes Usyk stumbled and fell on the floor. Huck tried to hit him, and was deducted by one point by the referee Robert Byrd. In the tenth round Huck began to receive more punches than usual and the referee decided to intervene and stop the fight at 2:18.
