Former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko said he was pleased with his professional career, despite the fact that it ended with the defeat to British Anthony Joshua.
"It was not an easy decision. It's not easy to do after 27 years of career. You say, "I will do this easily," but that's not true, because you really need to come to this. This is not easy, and I understand my colleagues who could not do it on time and continued to fight,” Wladimir said.
“I can say that I successfully completed my 27-year career, despite the defeat in the last fight. I've never won so much after a failure. I can say that I successfully completed my career, during which there were many moments, which are often talked about. I liked both victories and defeats. The latter helped me. These are the moments after which you truly recognize yourself. You learn to work on yourself and study yourself. It was a great time for me and my future, because life after a sports career will be just as long."
