In a rematch, WBC #1, IBF #4, WBO #9 cruiserweight Dmitry Kudryashov (21-1, 21 KOs) scored an exciting fifth round KO over WBC #2, WBO #6 Olanrewaju Durodola (25-4, 23 KOs) on Saturday night at the Sports Palace in Rostov-na-Donu, Russia.
Durodola had previously handed Kudryashov his only loss, via second round KO, in November 2015. Both Kudryashov and Durodola landed big shots in rounds one and two. Kudryashov rocked Durodola at the end of round three after losing most the round. Kudryashov dropped Durodola in round four with a wild left hook to the temple and nearly finished him. Kudryashov floored Durodola again in round five and the bout was stopped shortly after when Kudryashov staggered Durodola again, although it seemed Durodola still had some fight in him. Time was 2:17. Kudryashov retained his WBC silver cruiserweight title.
