Malignaggi made an emphatic prediction for a possible Alvarez vs. Benavides fight

American boxing veteran, expert and commentator Paul Malignaggi has expressed confidence that interim WBC interim middleweight champion David Benavides will win a convincing victory over the division's outright champion Saul Alvarez if their fight does go ahead.

"I think Alvarez is going to get beaten. Benavides will run him over like a train. Saul has to do what the great Mexican legends do - they fight the main challenger. I want to do that. It's important for the legacy. David has the star qualities to be the next face of boxing. This fight has to happen," Malignaggi said on the Deep Waters show.

Earlier it became known that Alvarez refused to fight Benavides for $ 55 million.
