Christian Klaue, a spokesman for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has revealed that the IBA, headed by Umar Kremlev, will not be involved in organizing boxing tournaments as part of the 2028 Olympics.
"The International Boxing Association (IBA) will in no way be involved in organizing boxing tournaments if boxing becomes part of the 2028 Olympics. Unless we have a new boxing body that will work in partnership with the International Olympic Committee, we will not be able to include boxing in the program of the Olympic Games-2028," the official wrote on social networks.
Recall, the IBA is one of the few federations in amateur sports, which allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to perform under their flags and anthems.
