Sonnen - on St. Denis' words after defeating Puryear: 'I've never seen excuses work'

Former UFC fighter and current analyst Chael Sonnen commented on the performance of French lightweight Benoit Saint-Denis in his fight with Dustin Porier.

"After the fight, Saint-Denis started to justify himself by saying that he was taking antibiotics due to staphylococcus aureus. I don't even know what to say about it so as not to offend him... It was one of the best performances of the evening. The result was on Porier's side, but the performance of the evening for St. Denis. He beat him. But these excuses... I've never seen people accept that. I've never seen those excuses work," MMA News quotes Sonnen as saying.

Recall, the fight between Saint-Denis and Puryear took place at UFC 299, ending with a victory of Dustin by knockout in the second round.
