Daniel Cormier, former two-division UFC champion, is surprised that Umar Nurmagomedov didn't even bring up the knockdown that Bekzat Almahan sent him into.
"I asked Umar after the fight how badly he was hit by Almakhan's punch, after which he fell into a knockdown. He said: "I don't understand." Then I showed him the video and he said: "Oh, here's the thing." The guy didn't even realize he was knocked down. He was acting on instinct at that point, and that's what impressed me the most. For the whole fight, he didn't even remember that moment. When Anthony Johnson dropped me, I went to my corner and told myself he would never do it again. Umar, on the other hand, didn't even think about the knockdown. That's really impressive and that makes him a dangerous opponent for any fighter in his division," Cormier said on ESPN MMA.
