Former UFC welterweight belt challenger Gilbert Burns apologized to Belal Muhammad for his recent remarks. The Brazilian had previously stated that the American deserved a title shot.

"I believe Belal deserves a fight with the champion. If we talk about numbers, this guy has an insane winning streak. 10 fights, I think. Yeah, I think he deserves to be a contender.

Honestly, I used to say the opposite because I lost to him, I was injured, and he was talking too much. But I shouldn't have said that, I apologize. I actually think he deserves a fight for the belt, even though I don't particularly like him," MMA Mania quoted Burns as saying.
