The head of Matchroom Boxing is in close contact with Canelo and despite the good relationship, the Mexican is likely to fulfill his contract with PBC until the end. There have been rumors in the media that Alvarez will soon sign a new contract with Matchroom and streaming service DAZN.
According to Hearn, the most likely scenario at this point is a fight between Canelo and former middleweight champion Jaime Munguia (43-0, 34 KOs). The fight is tentatively scheduled for May 4 in the U.S., and would have to take place on pay-per-view.
