Huseyin Cinkara (23-1, 19 KO) was hospitalized after being knocked out on Saturday in a fight for the IBF world title in cruiserweight against Jai Opetaia (29-0, 23 KO).

The Turk was diagnosed with a brain contusion, minor hemorrhage, and a fracture of the first cervical vertebra. Cinkara became the fifth of Opetaia's last six opponents to receive medical assistance in the ring.

Despite the victory, the champion will also take some time to recover from the fight. Opetaia, who is suspected to have had fractures of the orbital and zygomatic bones, was discharged from the hospital after examination and treatment and was even fishing on Sunday. However, his recovery is likely to take a few more weeks.
