UFC flyweight title challengerMarlon Vera recalled his loss in his bout with Jose Aldo.
"Losing like that really hurts. After the fight, it was like I was in darkness. I was hard on myself. It was discouraging. I made the biggest mistake of my life, but it was also the best mistake of my life because losing to Aldo taught me a lot. I realize that now. That's why you saw my career the way it became. Because I set the attitude for myself, "You always have to be careful in everything." This defeat, I would say, was the best defeat of my career. Why not learn valuable lessons from this fight, especially when you are beaten by a legend like Jose Aldo?".
As a reminder, Vera lost to Aldo by unanimous judges' decision in December 2020.
