Burns: Muhammad doesn't deserve title shot

Brazilian UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns opposed the American Belal Muhammad became the next opponent of the division champion Leon Edwards.

“The UFC needs to put on better fights and I honestly don’t think Belal deserves a title shot. If I hadn’t gotten injured in the fight with Muhammad and won that fight, I would have become the headliner of UFC 300,” Burns said in an interview with Championship Rounds.

Let us remember that in May last year at the UFC 288 tournament, Burns lost to Muhammad by unanimous decision. Since then, the 37-year-old Brazilian has not appeared in the Octagon. In total, he has 22 victories and six defeats in mixed martial arts.
