Gennady Golovkin, the former dominant world middleweight champion, has officially headed the NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Gennady Golovkin was elected president of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan. Today in Astana, at the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Assembly of the NOC of Kazakhstan, elections were held for the president of the NOC and its key governing bodies.
Timur Kulibayev, who headed the organization since 2015, resigned. Gennady Golovkin was elected as the new head of the NOC of Kazakhstan. Members of the General Assembly unanimously supported his candidacy,” says the NOC of Kazakhstan in an official statement.
Let us remember that Golovkin fought his last fight in September 2022, losing by unanimous decision to Saul Alvarez. In total, he has 45 professional fights, in which he achieved 42 victories, 1 draw and suffered 2 defeats.
