Mendes called Makhachev's dream fight

Javier Mendez, mentor of the UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhacheva, told us what kind of fight his ward dreams of.

“Who would I want him to fight? Yes, it doesn’t matter to me, I will support any choice of Islam. He dreams of meeting the welterweight champion to win a second belt, but I’m sure the UFC won’t approve of that now. But maybe after the next defense the promotion will decide to reward Islam for his work and give him the opportunity to compete for the title in the welterweight division,” Helen Yee Sports quotes Mendes.

Let us remind you that Mendes previously said that Makhachev would fight for the UFC welterweight champion belt in 2025.
