Coach Dubois explains why Daniel challenged Hrgovic

Don Charles, trainer of the former regular WBA heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, commented on the challenge that his ward threw Filip Hrgovic.

“Daniel defeated Jarrell Miller, and before that he fought for the championship titles with Usyk. So he cannot retreat back, he can only go up. Therefore, Daniel challenged Hrgovic. This is one of the opponents he wants to fight.

The victory over Miller brought a lot of dividends. I've only been working with Daniel for two fights, so we continue to actively develop. People will see evidence of this in his upcoming fights.

As a coach, I do my job and leave the search for opponents to the promoters. They offer me fights, and I say “yes” or “no”. I think there are good fights for Daniel,” Charles said.
