UFC featherweight champion coach Alexa Volkanovski Eugene Bairman admitted that he did not watch his charge’s rematch with the promotion’s lightweight champion Islam Makhachev out of fear.
“I didn’t have time to get to Abu Dhabi. Everything happened very quickly and I had prior commitments that I couldn’t cancel. I didn't even watch the fight because I was too afraid of what could happen. I had a feeling it might be something of a knockout loss. Obviously, I didn’t want to be right, but, unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened,” said the specialist.
In the second fight, Islam Makhachev knocked out Alex Volkanovski with a high kick in the first round.
