Former interim UFC lightweight champion, American Dustin Poirier told how he reacted to the organization of the fight with the Frenchman Benoit Saint Denis.
“I was surprised because I thought it would be a more famous opponent. There were thoughts in my head about a legacy... Maybe it should be Rafael dos Anjos, I don’t know... I thought the UFC would offer me something similar.
I am 35 years old. This guy is young, hungry and on a streak of early victories. We'll see what I'm still capable of. We’ll find out,” Poirier said on The MMA Hour.
Let us remind you that Poirier and Saint-Denis will cross gloves in the second most important event of the UFC 299 tournament, which will take place on March 9 in Miami, USA.
