Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker once again remembered his defeat to the current belt holder Dricus Du Plessis.
Last July at the UFC 290 tournament, the Australian unexpectedly lost to the South African by technical knockout in the second round. According to Robert, he approached that fight in less than optimal shape.
“I wouldn’t want to focus on this because every fighter has injuries. Everyone goes through injuries and I stand by my decision to take this fight. I’m not belittling Drikus’s merits, but the preparation wasn’t ideal,” Whittaker said on The MMA Hour.
Let us remind you that on February 17 at UFC 298 in Anaheim, Whitatker will cross gloves with Paulo Costa.
