Dricus Du Plessis, the newly crowned UFC middleweight champion, thanked his fellow fans for their support.

“History has come true! This is Africa, we are afraid of nothing and certainly not afraid of anyone! Thank you South Africa, I am honored to represent our beautiful nation,” the fighter said.

Let us remind you that Du Plessis won a split decision against Sean Strickland in the main fight of UFC 297 and became the new middleweight champion of the promotion.
